Catalysts are rapid-fire proof-of-concept projects developed collaboratively by TM Forum members to solve common industry challenges, validated by communications service providers and industry stakeholders. The teams deliver projects and solutions that leverage key TM Forum best practices and standards to ensure scalability, reuse across multiple applications, and reduced costs and risk.

This Catalyst is implementing an AI trust measurement system to ensure that AI models and algorithms are built, deliverd and maintained to be inclusive, responsible and ethical, in support of UN sustainability goals.
GenAI hyper-personalized customer experience
This Catalyst uses Accenture’s Customer Data Architecture, Google’s Vertex AI and Pega’s Customer Decision Hub to provide a self-learning personalized customer experience interface that anticipates potential customer churn so customers can be proactively retained.
This Catalyst creates a new plug-and-play billing platform which enables cross-country integration of invoices generated under complex billing models with usage ratings, tiered pricing models, and cross-company discounting.
SHINE: Simple hyperscaler integrated network experience
This Catalyst will create a standardised method by which CSPs can push APIs to a product catalog and expose them in hyperscaler portals as native services and use the Open Digital Architecture framework to align a common set of standards for network-as-a-service capabilities and hyperscaler integration.
Harnessing data insights for the automotive industry – Phase III
This Catayst uses privacy computing technology to securely combine the data of CSPs and vehicle manufacturers to accelerate their development opportunities.

This Catalyst uses a tri-level digital twin network management solution to accurately visualize physical and computing resources and operation status for complex network failure playback – enabling innovative data services, improved network resilience, simplified operations and new B2B opportunities for CSPs.

This Catalyst project aims to demonstrate how AI/ML can be used to improve SA for converged Telco Cloud CaaS and CNFs and help to reduce the signal-to-noise ratio, enable root cause analysis, and automate remediation.
Creating a sustainable digital future: low-carbon networks
This Moonshot Catalyst demonstrates innovations in intent-driven energy management, cooling, energy-saving and green power use to help mobile networks in China alone save 3.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and reduce carbon emissions by 102,600 tons over just one year.

This Catalyst demonstrates the value of integrating cognitive intelligence into service experience. By capturing customer actions and behaviors, Champions can gain insights into customer preferences and craft positive responses. This Metaverse challenge Moonshot Catalyst is enabling CSPs to play a greater role in the metaverse value chain by bringing business model innovation and monetizing immersive partner services. Building customer trust through a multi-network assurance platform- Phase III
This Catalyst helps CSPs assume the role of the natural ‘go-to’ by creating a highly automated platform for software-defined smart networks which includes a state-of-the-art customer portal and AI ops assurance.
Digital business marketplace – Phase VI
This Catalyst uses TM Forum’s Open Digital Architecture to create a plug-and-play architecture and APIs that the travel industry can use to deploy smart services across a number of applications such as power consumption, retail, security and immigration processing.
Experience guaranteed connectivity
This Catalyst will demonstrate how to automatically validate services before offering them to a given customer – throughout ordering, activation, and provision.
Green and efficient radio access networks
This Catalyst will seek to improve network configuration profiles, use artificial intelligence for resource allocation and help implement more efficient use of antennas – allowing CSPs to create more sustainable, cost-effective networks as demand intensifies.
Trustworthy computing transaction service
This Catalyst seeks to define a trusted and transparent computing transaction system, enabled by blockchain and AI technologies. In collaboration with computing service transaction providers, it will examine how to dynamically match requests and supplies for computing service consumptions.
Sustainability scoring for all
This Catalyst proposes a system for scoring suppliers and partners to help CSPs achieve their goal and incentivize the broader ecosystem to do the same. By using an RDL-network blockchain protocol, this proof of concept will be capable of automatically examining and measuring the impact of all kinds of products suppliers have to offer.
Intelligence and value driven digital operation transformation for network
This Catalyst will create an intelligent operations framework that can be built to phase in other core processes over time, and enable CSPs to identify customer demand and potential revenue.

This Catalyst will demonstrate how CSPs, playing the role of a marketplace orchestrator, can offer zero-touch NaaS-based offers from multiple parties, generating additional revenue streams for itself and marketplace suppliers, and ultimately creating value to the customer.

This Catalyst showcases the collaborative efforts of our Champions and Partners in transforming from Telco to Techco. This transformation is achieved through the deployment of Autonomous Operations and TM Forum Frameworks. Champions enhance their decision intelligence capabilities to better serve their target customers and attain sustainable long-term growth.
NICE API: Network insights for customer experience
This Catalyst will engage ecosystem participants and CSPs to help identify the most desired network APIs, data and insights; abstract them and identify their limitations; and then standardize them across the industry by anchoring to the Open Digital Architecture framework and creating documentation to support alignment to standard process APIs.
Private optimized connectivity
This Catalyst will create a process API to support activating a private local port for an application hosted on the cloud, to ensure a path to local customers through the best broadband connection possible, and create documentation to ensure API alignment and reuse.
DataFabric-based intelligent data sharing
This Catalyst realizes closed-loop integration of data production, development and governance to remove operational barriers, reduce costs and increase the value of data through sophisticate knowledge maps, while bringing response times below 30ms even for thousands of concurrent requests.
Smart financial accounting with RPA and AI
This Catalyst aims to develop ‘digital employees’ through a robotic process automation (RPA) platform to assist complex planning and decision-making, while helping to avoid repetitive manual tasks in tax, capital management, retail, travel, and financial data.
Revolutionizing telecom operations empowered in the metaverse by AI generated content – Phase III
Having created avatars for consumer and business scenarios, this phase three Catalyst seeks to build whole worlds for users to tread. By using AI-generated content (AIGC) technologies like AutoGPT to undertake this, far more personalized and engaging metaverse experience can be created.
Digi-boost connectivity services
This Catalyst incorporates AI into gigabit broadband provision to ensure network resources are most efficiently allocated to each application – improving operations and energy efficiency, while helping CSPs to better understand user preferences.
GenAI and knowledge driven 5G operations
This Catalyst will realize intelligent cognitive decision-making in network operations by automatically collecting and processing network data, then matching solutions to issues with a self-learning AI model, which in turn can enable intent-based, closed-loop network operations, building the knowledge maps needed for increasingly autonomous network maintenance.

This Catalyst shows how to improve high-value L3 and L4 scenarios including IP, transmission and core networks, and service domains – improving standards of efficiency in operations and maintenance (O&M) and user experience and helping CSPs achieve higher customer satisfaction with guaranteed SLAs.
Unlocking B2B2X value for 5G smart spaces – Phase III
This Catalyst demonstrates the necessary foundations smart spaces require in the form of settlements and reconciliations between CSPs sharing network and edge infrastructure; a monetization platform for all parties; and an orchestration platform to assist with deployment.
Evaluation of autonomous network service experience for the cloud network
This Catalyst aims to streamline the “three-layer and four-loop” of autonomous networks via APIs between operators’ OSSs and OMCs, regardless of differences in O&M capabilities – achieving self-intelligent network service ratings to guide the evolution of autonomous networks.
Open SATCOM management
This Catalyst seeks to facilitate better interoperability across LEO, MEO, and GEO fleet managers by defining standardized satellite connectivity technologies, products, and related APIs for the most common interactions for customer-oriented and network maintenance use cases.
Autonomous networks hyperloops – Phase IV

This Catalyst focuses on creating ODA component(s) for event-driven architecture to demonstrate enhanced customer experiences with E2E closed-loop assurance, delivering higher service resilience and supporting use cases in 5G networks, IoT, NaaS, and Industry 4.0.
Intent-driven autonomous networks – Phase III
This Catalyst aims to create a comprehensive view of intent APIs in order to unlock the potential business benefits that can be generated using intent in autonomous networks.
Autonomous customer experience index (CEI) for zero-touch 5G network – Phase III
This Catalyst uses zero-touch 5G network operations to enable an autonomous customer experience index (CEI) based on users’ perceived quality of service metrics, which can be processed using state-of-the-art digital twin technology and machine learning algorithms for service orchestration.
Autonomous cloud network operation for vertical industries – Phase II
This Catalyst seeks to simplify the process of providing network services and related SLAs for the myriad organizations that need them by focusing on specific production scenarios of cloud network operations.
Zero-touch digital services marketplace – Phase V
This Catalyst is producing a horizontal platform based on TM Forum ODA to deliver single-pane reporting in smart stadiums, healthcare, gaming and others – helping CSPs to move beyond connectivity and become digital ecosystem providers.
Channels & markets – Phase III
This Catalyst removes the ‘catalog barrier’ by ingesting service provider products and services into the CSP catalog used by buyers, helping suppliers avoid the need to implement their own catalogs, and so bringing a greater diversity of offerings to CSPs’ customers quickly.
Rise of the bots
This Catalyst uses a focused maturity model to identify best practices and pitfalls of transforming the CSP’s organization, talent and culture. The results can be used as a framework to guide other CSPs on retraining the workforce fit for digital transformation.
Metaverse enablement through standard APIs
5G networks are critical to enabling Metaverse and XR applications. Crucial to building these products are standardized APIs that developers can use with ease. This Catalyst will create a set of APIs that uses 5G’s capabilities to build an innovative Metaverse solution.
Unlocking revenue and efficiency with intent-driven autonomous operations – Phase III
This Catalyst uses an intent-driven approach based on the TM Forum Open API 921 to autonomously translate vertical industry customer needs into business intent via AI – allowing zero-touch agreement of offer, price and SLA setup in response to input from the customer.
This Catalyst will demonstrate an ‘ODA Canvas’ on wasmCloud to compose ODA components with lightweight, rapid processes – helping CSPs bridge the gap between mobile, transport and cloud technologies to accelerate 5G application delivery.
Talent for tomorrow – Phase II
This Catalyst is developing a low-code training platform, with a highly customizable UI and CI/CD pipeline, to intelligently spot talent and upskill staff by matching them to relevant interactive training modules.
