Dr. Jian Fan

Dr. Jian FAN,Chinese government awarded state expert, current Bigdata Chief Scientist and former deputy CIO and CTO of China Unicom Group. Since 2013 he has led the groupwide big data and digital transformation programs including the elaboration of Bigdata and cloud strategy, the construction of a centralized BSS to support +200M subscribers and a 100 Pbytes data platform to run the digital applications. He was at the origin of Smart Steps creation, a JV company between China Unicom and Telefonica specialized in bigdata businesses. He has been also deeply involved in the mobile banking services launched jointly by China Merchant Bank and China Unicom. Dr. FAN has successfully transformed China Unicom Big data into an open and collaborative mode and achieved a business portfolio of 440 millions RMB.

In the past years, Dr. FAN has been awarded many highest prizes by Chinese ministries and industries. In 2015, the Customer Centricity program led by him was awarded by TM Forum as the Excellence awards of service providers.

Before joining China Unicom, Dr. FAN served Orange Group for +20 years, he occupied successively the positions as IT Chief Architect, Business Development VP for Orange Business Services, Head of billing center of excellence, etc.
