Ieva Martinkenaite

Ieva Martinkenaite is leading the Research and Innovation unit in Telenor – Telenor Research & Innovation. Leading research and innovation within AI/ML, 5G/6G and cloud based solutions is among Ieva’s many tasks in Telenor.

Ieva has broad experience through several high profile roles within research, development and regulation of AI. Among these are board positions in Norwegian Open AI-Lab, The Research Council’s expert group on AI (the AI billion), International Advisory Board of Flanders AI, Singapore’s Government International Advisory Council on Ethical use of AI and Data. Ieva is also leading a work group on AI on behalf of Europe’s largest telecom operator association ETNO and GSMA Europe. During 2018-2020, Ieva represented Telenor in the EU Commission’s expert task force on artificial intelligence, that has provided ethical guidelines for development of responsible artificial intelligence in Europe.

Ieva holds a phd in strategic management from BI Business School (Norway) and a master’s degree in European Public Administration from K. U. Leuven (Belgium).
