Kal De

Kal De is the Senior Vice President for Products & Engineering at Nokia’s Cloud & Network Services business. His teams develop industry-leading software for Core Networks, security operations, service orchestration, service assurance and 5G monetization. His current focus is helping CSPs and enterprises leverage AI, automation and cloud-native software to enable networks that sense, think and act.

Prior to joining Nokia Kal has held advisory roles at several companies including Vista Equity Partners where he was Chief Technology Officer. Kal was formerly General Manager at Carbon Black, the cybersecurity business acquired by VMWare for $2.1B in 2019 – and EVP, Technology at Docker where he helped pivot the company to a cloud-first, Kubernetes-centric developer services approach. He has also held a variety of commercial and technical leadership roles at companies including VMWare, Hewlett Packard and Oracle.

Kal studied at Berkeley and holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Virginia Tech. Originally a native of the UK, he has now been resident in California for more than 30 years.
