Ruizhi (Mark) Yang received his B.Sc. degree in Applied Physics (Basic Science of Communication) from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China, in 2016, and his M.Sc. degree in Optical Communications and Signal Processing from the University of Bristol, U.K., in 2019. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Bristol, where he has also been serving as a Research Associate at the Smart Internet Lab since August 2023.
He is a key contributor to the development of the UK quantum network, having led the implementation of a multi-protocol quantum key distribution (QKD) system connecting Bristol and Cambridge, enabling a range of quantum-secured applications. His research interests include intelligent optical networks, intelligent and autonomous quantum networks, digital twins for quantum networks, and entanglement distribution.
