Renee Mateparae

As Network & Operations Director for Spark New Zealand, Renee is responsible

for ensuring Spark’s networks remain highly resilient and secure, delivering a

great network experience to Spark’s customers every day. This includes Spark’s

fixed and mobile networks, operations centres, physical infrastructure & cyber

security.

Renee is responsible for all aspects of the Spark network from end-to-end

architecture, through design & build, to operate & secure of the network. She is

also responsible for capital investment and procurement & partnering on behalf

of the Spark Group and sits on the Board for the Entelar Group, a wholly-owned

Spark subsidiary, and the Rural Connectivity Group, a joint venture between the

three major telcos in New Zealand.

Renee joined Spark’s Ventures group in 2017, before becoming one of Spark’s

first Tribe Leads when the organisation moved to Agile in 2018. Renee is

passionate about the use of emerging technologies and the role they can play in

delivering sustainability and productivity outcomes for communities, businesses

and individuals.

Renee brings to the role more than 20 years of experience in corporate strategy,

business transformation and customer experience in New Zealand and globally,

having spent time with Air New Zealand, Macquarie Group & Accenture. She has

a first-class honours degree in Engineering, specialising in Automation & Control,

as well as a post-graduate diploma in Business from Massey University.
