Sumit Verdi

Sumit is part of Blue Planet, a division of Ciena, leading the outbound products and solutions management group. He has over 23 years of leadership solving and succeeding in products, solutions innovation, enterprise architecture, and engineering for large-scale customer problems. He began his telco journey at Vodafone, since continuing to meet the needs of business growth and customer demands in telecommunications and vertical markets.

He has a diverse set of experiences from VMware and most recently Google Cloud, where he led product and solutions management responsibility for telecom networks, customer experience, monetization, and data/GenAI transformations across fixed, wireless, and cable applications.

Prior to VMware, he drove numerous innovations at a startup developing solutions in service provider network intelligence and predictive analytics. Sumit holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the California State University, San Jose.
