Google’s Global Network (GGN) supports the Google applications that billions of people around the world rely upon to be available all the time. A key imperative for achieving a very high level of reliability for GGN is to leverage postmortems of past network incidents to help engineers to shorten the time to identify the root cause and fix any new issues.
We will demonstrate how GGN developed an assistant for on-call engineers using Google Cloud’s VertexAI Search. We were able to ingest a large number of complex postmortem documents and build a conversational bot with a few clicks of the button. We will also show how VertexAI Search’s responses are grounded in the data it was provided, and how its users can provide feedback for improving its responses.
